Bedtime conversations

The other night I got home from work a little early so I went in to see the kids before they fell asleep. Honestly, every mother needs to get away sometimes because when you come back? Oh! The excitement! They were so happy to see me. Here is the conversation that followed:

Amos: I didn't know that was you coming in when the door opened! I thought it was a monster!

Me: No, it was just me coming to say goodnight to you.

Amos: Oh. I didn't know that was you!

Molly: Yeah, we didn't know who it was!

Amos: I have to tell you a secret.

Me: Ok. (he pulls my head down)

Amos: We had hotdogs for dinner.

Me: Oh, that is a good secret!

Amos: I have to tell you another secret.

Me: Ok.

Amos: You have bones in your body!

Me: I do???

Amos: YES!!!

Molly: I have a song to sing to you.

I looove Moommmy!

And I miss her when she goes to work!

Aaaaaand I love her

I loooove her

Even when I'm maaaaaad aaaat her!

I looooooooove Mooooooommmy!

(Sung to no recognizable tune)

Me: Ok, night night.

Amos: I didn't know that was you when you opened the door!

Molly: Yeah, we didn't know that was you!

(Repeated 5 times)

I can't remember the rest, but at some point they went to sleep. And then I missed them.
