New Year's Eve

Just when I thought I couldn't get any more lame--it happened. So last night was New Year's Eve, and I went to bed at 9:20. Really. As I lay there in bed after a really long day I was thinking that I should be in some fancy dress at some party eating tiny hor'dourves and watching some spangly ball drop. Then I was like, wait a minute! I've never done that on New Year's Eve. Frankly, I was perfectly happy to be in my pj's with the kids in bed (finally!) watching some documentary about SNL. We had just spent 4 days at the beach with my family and it was great, but tiring. That might explain the 9:20 bedtime.
Here are some pics--

Molly in her raincoat that is 3 sizes too big with my mom and dad:

We were walking along these amazing cliffs at Depoe Bay. I really have never seen anything like it. Molly and Amos were both totally into watching the waves. I think we could have stayed for hours.

Here's Molly and Amos looking good, as always.

And of course, one of all of us. I can't decide whether I love my new hat or not. I'm open to opinions.

It was so great. As I look forward to the New Year I am excited for many more times like these--times spent with family and friends, doing nothing or everything, watching Molly and Amos grow and learn and do the weirdest things. It's always hard to look at the year coming up and know that there will be hard things to come, and wonder what those might be? I have a great talent for coming up with all sorts of things that might happen. It's hard sometimes to be just as open to the hard times as the great ones. Whatever the case, I'm so blessed and so happy and I can't wait to see what this next year has to offer for our family, and those around us. Happy New Year!
