Chools

Molly often speaks words that start with 'S' in an interesting way. She takes the first letter off and then adds it to the end of the word. A few examples:

poons=spoon
carys=scary

You get the idea. So, we're at DI today and she found this very wretched pink suitcase that rolls, mind you. It also says "Princess" in very large letters. Truly I don't think she could have found in the entire store the thing I would hate more than this suitcase. She wanted to take it home so she could go to chools (school) with it, and she asked so nicely that I told her she could have it (we're working on asking nicely for things). Then when we were in the book section she asked if she could put some books in her suitcase, again for chools. So, ok, obviously being a book lover I'm not going to say no. I was impressed by her selections, only two had no pictures (I put them back when she wasn't looking). She zipped them all in the pink monstrosity and wheeled it up to the cash register to pay. It was when we got out to the car that I realized she really, truly thought since she had the pink suitcase and her books that she could go to chools right now. I tried the whole, "How about we play school when we get home! I can be the teacher and you can sit at your little desk! Won't that be fun?" Nothing doing. She hung her head and cried, quietly, so I knew it was for real because when she is having a tantrum she screams at levels only heard by dogs. Poor thing. I finally convinced her we could pretend the car was the school bus. That, and some Ritz crackers helped her feel a tiny bit better. Now I just have to find a way to not gag every time I see her pulling the pink princess suitcase.

I'm pretty sure there is an 80 year old lady in our ward that carries her church stuff around in that exact same "suitcase". Good Job Molly!

Sorry about the pink suitcase. #1 has a bright pink backpack that someone gave her made out of fake fur that used to say Barbie on it until I sewed a patch of fabric over the name. But I am afraid Molly's suitcase takes the cake, my friend. I sincerely admire you for letting her pick it out and keep it. I really don't think I could do it. Rock on Amber! Rock on Molly, for that matter. :)
