My friend Kelly used to have a picture of her son in her cubicle at work of him looking out the window, the picture was looking at him from behind. She loves that picture. And now, years later, when I have my own kids I find that my favorite pictures are the ones from behind. I'm not sure why this is--it seems like so much of their personality can be seen in the tilt of their head, or the curve of a cheek. Or perhaps it is the fact that when they don't know you are taking their picture their bodies are more relaxed, more free.
Like this one for example. Whenever this picture comes up on our computer Bryan and I look at the picture. And sigh. We look at each other. And sigh. And we wonder, could anyone possibly love their child more than us??
Just a girl and her dad.
Molly says, "You be careful, Dad."
And here are Amos & Ava walking together at the beach. Seriously, it doesn't get any better.
