We bought a house! Yes, very exciting. So it's our house of dreams right now, pretty much because it's a house and not an apartment AND it has a yard so I can finally say, "Go play outside!" to my kids. So great. It happened pretty quickly and it all started from a phone call from my dad that began: "Some people in our ward are moving, you should come look at their house." The funny thing is we didn't even end up buying that one--we got a totally different one, still in my parent's ward. Which is a whole other blog post.
Here is the front. Check out the giant juniper bush that Bryan will be tearing out the first weekend we move in!
Kitchen. New countertop, floor, dishwasher, stove, sink--but why did they leave the 80's style cabinets?? I'll never know.
Here I am (next to the lovely woodstove pad, what we are going to do with that I just don't know) thinking 2 things:Yes! The kids have a yard to play in!
and
Dang, that's a lot of yardwork.
The backyard is huge but looks like the house was built and then the back yard wasn't touched for 20 years. Oh well. So even with some flaws we are still extremely excited. Moving day is this Saturday!

Congratulations on your new house, Amber. I know it's been a year, but still seems exciting to me, as I have never owned a house yet. I'm sure you've already made many happy memories in it. I looks beautiful. Oh, & if the back yard is the only part of the house that needs work, then you got it pretty good.
